Facebook ads are one of the best ways to grow your business. The possibilities are endless, and the targeting functionality is unheard of. Facebook knows everything, and as a society we have given them permission to send us ads that we would be interested in.

Step 1 – Define Your Goals

Don’t just say “I want to grow my business.” Are you building page likes? Are you collecting emails? Are you selling a product? Know what you want and when you want it by. This will come in handy later on.

Step 2 – Define Your Demographic

Do your research. You must know who it is you are selling to. Understanding your target audience is just as important as understanding your product or service.

Step 3  – Create 5 Different Facebook Ads

Get creative. You want to start with a large pool of options. The more you try the more you will understand what will work and what will not work. You need to be prepared to spend money in exchange for collecting a data set.

Step 4 – Collect Data

Let the ads run for a few weeks. Get an understand of what is working and what isn’t working and study the data. Do not let your gut instinct or ego get in the way. The data is your best friend.

Step 5 – Optimize

As you see what works, build more ads that run off that concept. As you see what doesn’t work, delete those ads and put your money to where it has the potential to bring in a ROI.

Rinse and repeat. Over the course of a few months you need to be making a return on your ads. If you are not, then you are doing something wrong.
